Spherity partners with Engineering Industries eXcellence to Provide DSCSA Compliance Solution for Authorized Trading Partners

Dortmund, April 5, 2023.

Spherity, a German software provider of secure and decentralized identity management solutions, has partnered with Engineering Industries eXcellence, a global leader in digital transformation, to provide an efficient solution, CARO and Movilitas.Cloud, to support compliance with the US Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA), part of which requires the verification of trading partners.

By November 2023, companies operating in the U.S. pharmaceutical supply chain will be required to exchange product information with Authorized Trading Partners (ATPs) in the context of product verifications in accordance with DSCSA. The Spherity - Movilitas.Cloud partnership offers an ATP solution, which automates the verification of trading partners in real time. This eliminates lengthy manual processes and saves time and costs while enabling enhanced supply chain security for the benefit of patients.

“To manage the scope and challenges of the ATP verification, CARO is currently the only viable solution enabling automated ATP checks in VRS-facilitated interactions. The solution has found strong support from leading compliance professionals. We look forward to supporting Engineering Industries eXcellence customers on their DSCSA compliance journey,” said Georg Jürgens, Spherity’s Manager for Industry Solutions.

“With the integration of CARO in our self-service cloud-based VRS solution, we provide requesters and responders a one-stop-shop solution to be compliant and ready for the upcoming verification requirements of DSCSA today,” said Marc Blekkink, Managing Director of Movilitas.Cloud at Engineering Industries eXcellence.

Both organizations are members of the Open Credentialing Initiative (OCI), a collaborative non-profit initiative formed by a group of trading partners, solution providers and standard organizations to support the pharmaceutical industry in adopting credentialing technology to enhance supply chain security. The DSCSA solution leverages OCI-aligned credentialing which is supported by leading industry organizations, including HDA, PDG and GS1 US.
